Lauren & Stacy
Moms know best, as they say. For years, Lauren's mom urged her to learn mahjong, a game she had played and loved for over 50 years. Foolishly, she assumed it was a game for "old ladies" and resisted learning it. When she finally decided to see what all the fuss was about, she was instantly hooked! Mahjong is officially sweeping the nation, and it's wild to see friends from completely different circles and age groups are equally obsessed. What started as simply learning a game Lauren had heard about her whole life has quickly turned into one of her favorite pastimes and one of the most fun ways to unwind, connect with friends and keep her brain sharp in her 40s. Every game turns into a mix of strategy, luck and competition with a side of gossip, a little trash talk and always a lot of laughter.
Stacy came to mahjong curious, a little skeptical, and with zero expectation of getting hooked. But once she played, she was completely obsessed! The strategy and the energy around the table pulled her in fast. It’s a game that makes you feel smart… until your tiles prove otherwise.
Stacy's career has always been about storytelling, engagement, and building community, so it makes perfect sense that she fell for a game that does the same. For Stacy, mahjong is part brain workout, part friendly competition, a lot of laughter, and sometimes a great gossip session. She loves creating spaces where people feel welcome, connect with each other, and can’t wait to come back for the next round.
Stacy and Lauren look forward to sharing their love of mahjong with you! Their unique approach to teaching reflects their solid grasp of the rules, strategies and rhythms of the game coupled with the goal of making the game feel approachable and fun and building new players' confidence and excitement around the table. They can't wait to get you hooked on mahj, too!
