Hi Chicago and its surrounding ‘burbs! We’re excited for you to meet Ashley and Shelby, friends and Moms to two girls each! These two are Chicagoland natives, North Shore transplants, and Mahjong enthusiasts, who can’t wait to bring Mod Mahj to your neighborhood!
Ashley was first introduced to Mahjong as a young girl, watching her Grandma Marcia play, who enjoyed the game with friends every week for over 50 years! Grandma Marcia played until her 90s and was even accused of cheating at one point, because she was that good.
Shelby would love to tell a similar family story of Mahj, but she only learned of the game as a young adult after reading the popular book, Crazy Rich Asians. :) They are excited to bring both old friends and new to come together to learn and enjoy the fun of Mahjong—creating a Mahjong family story their 4 girls can retell as adults!
